Sat-Sun
21-22 June, contact TTB to register.
Please contact us if you can offer workshops, talks, skills or if you want to request that we offer an event or cover a subject:
We are still in the 'awareness raising' phase but we want the focus to be more practical, moving towards doing,
cutting carbon, 'skilling up for powerdown'.
We plan to do a short training for people wishing to set up 'Home Groups' to give
people confidence and ideas to get active in their own street, getting
together neighbours to watch a film and discuss and plan how they can
save carbon and money and how they can get involved in TTB
We have many volunteers but not enough capacity to use them fully.
We need to strengthen the steering group with committed people of a stategic turn of mind, with skills, and meet every 2 weeks. Please be in contact if you have skills to contribute.
We want to begin forming interest groups to begin the visioning and
the Energy Descent Planning. So far active groups include: COMMUNICATIONS, OUTREACH AND CAMPAIGNING (with EDUCATION); BUSINESS AND ECONOMY, TRANSPORT, BUILT ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY, LOCAL GOVERNMENT LIAISON.
They meet regularly
Others ripe for forming might be Food and Growing, Arts and Culture, Heart and Soul, Health, Waste, Water....
We have several 'visible, practical manifestations,' of our work: the Abundance Project ; our Smart Meter Loan Scheme and sister projects like the Hyde Farm Climate Action Network
If you would like to lead or be in any of these groups please email and we will endeavour to put you in touch with other like minds.
We want to 'Unleash' in early Autumn. We need to have reached as many parts of Brixton and generated as much energy for change as possible.
Let the future begin!
